This item is 5.25 inches high and 2 inches in diameter. The wood is (top to bottom) Walnut, Cherry, Spalted Maple, and Walnut again at the base. I had this old flint lighter part laying around and wanted to make something on my lathe to hold it. I decided to make it in the shape of a ceramic vessel, since I'm working with these shapes all the time in my restoration business. I used some scraps of wood that were too small to use for anything else. The finish is a high-speed polished wax. I'm rather pleased with the outcome.
