Tiny Three Legged Box

This is a lathe turned box made from Maple wood. It's just under 2 inches in diameter, and a little over 2 inches high. The cap fits firmly. It has a hand rubbed linseed oil finish. This is one of my better results. The height of my current wood turning skills. I'm rather pleased with it.  This wood came from a tree in my own yard; a Silver Maple. It was a large tree we had cut down this year. I saved some logs from it, so expect to see more of this wood in the future.

A Small Sculpture

This is a small sculpture made of Spruce wood. It's all Right angles. The minimum number of lines to define a cube in three dimensional space. Each beam is six inches long. Each side is one inch wide. There are only two possible ways to display this construction. The reclining position shown above. (Flipping it over, it looks the same.)

Below is the second way to display it. No matter which side it's "standing" on it looks the same.
