Sycamore Bowl

 Another Sycamore bowl. This one measures 5.5 inches in diameter by 1.5 inches high. Finished with orange oil/beeswax mix. Very nice wood for turning. Lovely delicate grain. Hard wood. Finishes nicely. It would be nice to get some large pieces of this wood.

 Here's another Sycamore bowl. This one is 4.75 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high. Finished with orange oil and beeswax.

 I've been working with an old Sycamore branch I've been drying. This is a bowl measuring 4.75 inches diameter by 2 inches high. Finished with orange oil and beeswax.

 This is a Sycamore bowl measuring 4.25 inches diameter by 1.5 inches high. Finished with Orange oil.

Small Sycamore Bowl

 Here's a 3.25 inch diameter by one inch high Sycamore bowl. Finished with beeswax and orange oil. 

Eucalyptus Bowl

 

This is a Blue Gum Eucalyptus wood bowl 5 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. From a tree branch that came down in my yard in a storm. I added an incised line just below the rim. The bowl was finished with orange oil and bees wax polished at high speed. Eucalyptus has a beautiful delicate grain seen in the close ups below. (click on an image to see a larger version)

Two Small Maple Bowls

 

I turned a couple of small Maple bowls this week end. This one's about an inch high and 3 inches in diameter. Nice fiddle-back grain in both of these. 

Here's the other one slightly higher but the same diameter. I added a bead just below the rim. View of the inside below.
