Wood Dye Testing
I got some wood dye and wanted to try it out on some of my turnings. These are 2 inch diameter Ash wood cups. I have 5 colors that can be mixed to make different colors. Works better on some wood than others.
Ash Wood Box
This is a 4 inch diameter, 3 inch high Ash wood box with a blue glass knob. That's a knot on the side. One of my neighbors had an Ash tree cut down in their front yard. I got a couple of logs from that, from which I made some recent turnings. This is one of the better ones.

Shallow Ash Bowl
Here is an 8 inch diameter Ash wood bowl, 1.5 inches high. It has a raised bead around the rim. Buffed with "True Grit" buffing compound. This was turned while green, which is why there is warping.
Ash Wood Bowl 2
This is an 8.5 inch diameter Ash wood bowl, 2.5 inches high. Buffed with "True Grit" buffing compound. No other finish. I used a Sorby texturing tool to make the raised border at the rim. This wood was turned while still a bit green, hence the warping . . . which I like.
