This is a pencil box I made for myself. It measures 8.5 inches long, 2.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. The top and bottom are white Oak. The sides are Iron Wood (Eucalyptus). The lid is a slide-open one. All corners are mitered. No metal hardware, all joints are glued. The finish is orange oil and little hand rubbed wax.

Wooden Brush Box
I made myself a brush box to hold my artist paint brushes. I wanted to make a nice one. It measures 10.5 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. The top and bottom are Redwood. The front and sides are some very hard mystery wood and the back is Oak. The catch on the front is made of Sycamore and is held in place with glue and wooden pegs. The half inch wide hinges are made from that mystery wood. The only metal in this project is the tiny steel pins in the hinges. The finish is Danish Oil.

Small Walnut Cup
This is Walnut wood, 3 inches high by 2.5 inches wide. No finish on this; it's just polished with "True Grit" buffing compound.

5 Inch Plum Bowl
Here's a small bowl turned from Plum wood. A real old partially decayed wood. Just to see if I could get something out of it. Most of the wood is solid but there were bad sections of it running through it. I thought I'd post it here because some people like this kind of wood turned stuff, though I'm not a fan of it. I've a little more of this wood so another one of these may show up here.

An Awl
I made this awl for one of my brothers. I tapered a drill bit to serve as the business end of the awl. I turned the handle from a piece of Plum wood and added a bit of textured detailing to it. I made a sheath to protect the point from a piece of plastic tubing and turned a plug for the end of it.
