6 Inch Iron Bark Eucalyptus Bowl

 This is a six inch diameter by 1.75 inch high Iron bark Eucalyptus bowl.

Iron Bark Eucalyptus Bowl

 Here's a 5.5 inch diameter by 1.75 inch high Eucalyptus bowl. A very hard, nicely grained wood. 

Iron Bark Eucalyptus Bowl #2

 Here's another Iron Bark Eucalyptus bowl. This one measures 9 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. This wood usually will darken to a deep red color over the next year or so. I'm hoping that will happen. I cut a couple of grooves right on the outer rim of this bowl, and another couple near the base. I did some texturing in the inset ring on the bottom center of the bowl. The finish is Beeswax and Orange Oil.

Iron Bark Eucalyptus Bowl

 This is an Iron Bark Eucalyptus bowl measuring 9.5 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches high. This is really hard wood. It dulls my tools quickly while turning it. It looks fantastic though and finishes nicely as well. This is from a tree in my yard. I did a little texturing in the inset ring on the bottom of the bowl. I made a couple of grooves just below the rim on the outside of the bowl. I finished it with Danish Oil.

Maple Bowl w/Black Interior

 This is a green-turned Maple bowl measuring 5 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches tall. I dried it in a microwave oven to speed drying and induce the warping of the wood. I colored the inside of the bowl with black shoe polish. I coated the outside with Danish Oil.

 This bowl was turned from green Maple, hence the warpage.  The bowl measures 5 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches tall. I dried it in a microwave oven to speed up the drying. I colored the exterior of the bowl with ebony stain. I coated the inside of the bowl with Danish Oil.

Cherry Wood Box w/Finial

 This is a Cherry wood box measuring 3.5 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches high. The finial is Maple. The lid is loose-fitting. It has a 3-legged base.

 Here's a small Sycamore wood cup. Measures 2.5 inches in diameter and 3.5 inches tall. 

8.5 Inch Cherry Bowl

 Here's another Cherry wood bowl turned from the wood given to me by Alex Shashura. I finished it with Danish Oil. Nice wood to turn, and with beautiful color. Thanks again Alex!

Pear Box w/New Feet

 Here's a Pear wood box I posted a short while back. I thought it would look better with a 3-foot base rather than the no-feet base. I like this much better.
